SEASHORES & WATERFRONT PLANNING
A waterfront alongside a sea or a river can be a real urban celebration, as can be seen in many cities around the world. The planning aspects of a waterfront are not only architectural and design, but also include many other aspects like a mix of land uses, economic aspects, landscape design, traffic and parking, the plan of the water edge, etc.
We have planned a few seashores and waterfront projects. In the city of Netanya, we planned a seashore which is 4.5 km long and includes a nature reserve in one part and an urban promenade with cafes, hotels and the beach in another. This includes a residential area behind the hotels and a full pedestrian zone in a wide strip at the water front. In the same city, we planned also (together with architect Dov Koren) a tourist riviera on the seashore with over 3,000 hotel rooms facing the Mediterranean sea.
In the tourist city of Nahariya also alongside the Mediterranean Sea, we prepare an overall tourism plan and a combined plan of an urban and detailed plan for the waterfront and main street of the city, as well as an urban renewal plan for the city center.
